AYI
Ayi is, and has been, THE ROCK of Kaybee Shanghai for over 20 years.
She embodies consistency, quality, grace, and dignity – every single day.
She is the first one at work, always arriving before 8am to have the office spotlessly clean and ready before everyone streams in from 9am.
During the 2 years I spent in Shanghai, I tried my best to learn a few phrases in Mandarin to communicate with her. I am ashamed to admit that I didn’t get beyond the standard Ni Hao, Xie Xie, Pu ke chi, Zai Jian.
Ayi, however, learned a lot more English at a much faster rate, and before I knew it, she was not just saying good morning, how are you, etc., but also “Govindsan, please have this cake. It is very good!’.
Ayi charmed all our overseas clients by her attention to detail and by perfectly recalling their preferences for drinks during their visits. This has made her one of the favorites of our clients who all ask about her when we visit them on overseas business trips.
As you will see from the photos attached, Ayi was the most energetic participant at our off-site training program when she scaled an obstacle that everyone else was afraid to try initially. Her example inspired everyone else to have the courage to do the same and showed us all her immense leadership qualities.
From Ayi, I’ve learned fundamental values that inspire me every day.
What I’ve learnt from Ayi:
